Purposeful Living

ADDICTED TO AUTOPILOT

What struck me this morning in my meditation practice is how easy it is to get stuck in a rut. To roll out of bed, uploading the same programmes of our identity as the day before. Eat, sleep, workout, have sex, watch Netflix, scroll on socials, whatever else it is that you do on the daily, and repeat. Day in day out. Without stopping to question it for a moment.

Well, I guess that’s the point of meditation.

To question.

To stop your actions mid process and reflect, and see – hey wait a minute, why am I doing this or that? Does it really serve me? Does it make me happy? Am I even consciously aware of the fact that I’m doing it? Where is this actually taking me? Am I present to what is happening here?

And if I’m honest when I step back and reflect, I’m not. Not always present, more in my head, thinking about something from the past or mentally checking what’s in my agenda for the rest of the day. It takes dedication and commitment to bring your attention back to the moment, and be fully living your life in the here and now. No easy task!

Where your energy flows…
I believe the vast majority of us are living in this state, and it’s no surprise when we are societally conditioned to stay asleep. There is so much data coming at us on any given day, our systems are totally overwhelmed. Rather than malfunction, it’s much easier to zone out and carry on with our autopilot. After all some of those functions serve us really well, like being able to drive a car without thinking about it, or walking down the street to the supermarket. If we had to consciously compute those processes each time, there wouldn’t be much bandwidth left for anything else.

However, this canny ability of our subconscious mind and physical body to automatically carry out many functions on our behalf has serious drawbacks. If we are not paying attention, it will literally be hijacked by someone or something else that is skilful at capturing it.

Where your attention goes, your energy flows.

Which direction are you pointing yours in?

Are you consciously deciding where you spend your time, energy and attention? Or are you on autopilot, and unconsciously stuck in a rut which is draining your very life force away?

Where is your focus?
Let me be honest, staying present and focussed in the here and now is a heroic task. One that I believe we can all benefit immensely from. However, in order to do so we must break our addiction to zoning out and running on autopilot. This will not get us where we want to go. Particularly as most of our actions (estimated 90%) are driven by our subconscious mind, which is build almost exclusively from the material and experiences we ingested before the age of seven. Essentially our subconscious, which is running our day to day lives, is like a small child that’s high on candy. Always flitting between a million things, bouncing off the walls and going around in circles. Our programming is running our lives and we are seldom aware of it.

Furthermore the modern landscape of media bombardment takes advantage of our perpetual state of busyness and overwhelm and sneaks in all kinds of subliminal messaging whilst we’re not paying attention.

Case in point – the Hands. Face. Space. latest mantra of the UK government in the handling of the current crisis. You’ve heard it enough times. You know exactly what it means. That’s precisely how brainwashing works. When you repeat something over and over, it sinks into your subconscious and becomes part of the programme. This is precisely why I avoid absorbing media, you simply don’t know where it’s been 😉

Our subconscious mind provides a fertile soil for thoughts and ideas to grow. However when it is continually polluted with untruths, or old, negative and outdated beliefs, it can turn into an overgrown dangerous jungle which houses critters at every turn.

Instead of cultivating sunflowers, poppies and wild meadows that would make the birds and bees sing, all of a sudden you have the Venus fly trap from the movie Little Shop of Horrors on your hands. Feed me, feed me NOW! As I’ve said before, the minds is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.

Become the master of your mind
I know it may seem out of reach, but I’m here to remind you that your mind really is within your control. It does however take practice and discipline. You must determine which seeds you wish to plant and nurture. I’d suggest going with those that uplift and nourish you, and not the thoughts that bring you down and cause you to shrink.

The subconscious is also a repository for everyone else thoughts and opinions that you valued at some point in time. Mostly from our parents, but also relatives, school teachers, the mean girl at school etc. All of the thoughts and ideas that you have about yourself reside there too. It’s quite a mishmash of stuff, which is why it’s important to do some garden maintenance and begin pulling some of the weeds up at the roots.
By sitting with your thoughts, whether in meditation, breathwork or journaling for example – you can start to see what is deeper beneath the surface. You’ll begin to notice when you’re speaking to yourself in a negative way, or perhaps some habits that you’re continuing with that don’t actually support your growth.

We have become addicted to autopilot in a world which values convenience over integrity. It’s time to wake up and take the action and decisions that support a sustainable and loving future, as individuals and as a collective.

Remember,

Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

MY VISION: CREATING A HEALTHY SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR HUMANITY

As I write this my heart is in my throat. I feel exposed and vulnerable.  The truth is leadership is far from easy, it’s an ongoing journey of releasing everything you thought you knew, to align to a greater good. One that is sustainable and healthy for all.

5 years ago I had a vision for a business.  In a burst of inspiration I quickly put together a presentation and shared it with my ex-boss.  (Sidenote: for those of you who are new to my story – 9 months earlier I had quit my successful insurance career for a break and to work out what my purpose was.)

I found myself back in my old office, explaining to Jon Davies about my business vision – that revolved around wellbeing, innovation and change. The energy of the vision was incredibly strong and I knew there was a powerful link between health, stress, and insurance claims.

The name of the business was Versicle.

It was a play on words – virtuous circle – and encapsulated the all round positive benefits that I believed would emanate from what I was proposing. This wasn’t necessarily ‘my’ vision, but what I was shown was ready to come to life. The world was changing and I understood that I had a significant part to play in that shift.

As the presentation ended Jon shared his enthusiasm for my proposal. Then he asked me the question – so how are you going to deliver it?  I was stumped.  Truth be told I wasn’t sure. It was half baked, even though in my mind it was crystal clear. I just didn’t know what it looked like in the physical – so I wasn’t able to answer the question.

After the meeting I questioned what the hell I was thinking. I’d purposefully left the industry to do something more ‘meaningful’. At that point I wasn’t ready to commit to bringing this huge thing to life.

So I decided to shelve it and carry on with my globe trotting adventures. After all, I didn’t need the money, so why go to the trouble of getting myself embroiled in a new venture that I had no clue about where to start.

The long journey back home
For the next few years I continued to educate myself in many different areas, including breathwork which I had fallen in love with and that was guiding my life in magical ways. I lived in Brazil on and off for a couple of years and learned to speak Portuguese. I taught workshops in Bali, Australia, Mexico and beyond. I met incredible people from all over the world and immersed myself in psychology, healing modalities and understanding human behaviour. I also started my coaching practice Breathworks to share the knowledge I was acquiring and held retreats in the rainforest outside Rio de Janeiro and Bali. I ventured to Costa Rica for deep dives into the mystical and worked teaching breathwork at a legal psychedelic retreat centre in the Netherlands.

Yet all the while this vision stayed with me. It wouldn’t release its grip. It wanted to come to life, and specifically through me. No matter what I did to distract myself from it I couldn’t.  After much journeying, last year I found myself back in the UK after 4.5 years living as a global nomad. It felt strange. Same same but different. I had changed so much, learned incredible things, and wondered what was next. I honestly didn’t know.

What I did know was that I had to release all the projects I’d been involved in. Every single thing had to go. My next step was to sit (again) in the void of not knowing and wait to be shown what was next. It was uncomfortable as hell.

For 6 months I went through the deepest transformation yet. Slowly but surely the pieces started to come together. I came out of the wilderness on LinkedIn and posted my first article. It got attention and my old colleagues started asking questions about the work I was doing.

Conversations started, which led to meetings, which led to being asked to speak at a conference I previously organised.

When the timing is right
Something incredibly synchronistic and sad happened which confirmed once and for all that I was on the right track. On the same day that I was invited to speak at the conference I found out that one of my dear friends had died. This friend, Francis McGinty, had introduced me to many new concepts in the field of health. He was involved in writing the HSE guidance for Stress Management in the Workplace and we had regular discussions over the years about how our work needed to come together. I was saddened and shocked by his sudden death, yet it galvanised my thinking that it was time for Versicle to come to life. This was in early January 2020, before this whole pandemic business had begun. Health and wellbeing was now firmly on the agenda and people were ready to listen.

But yet again, after the lockdowns began and everyone was focussed on figuring out how to carry on business and survive, I distanced myself from the idea and focussed on my private coaching work and supporting people online who really needed my assistance.

Fast forward a few more months and people in my circle started coming to me and having similar conversations. The world was waking up. People were suffering and needed a different solution. After getting thrown a curve ball, businesses had adapted to survive but that’s all they were doing. The pandemic had presented different more serious challenges than just a virus, instead it capitulated most of the population into deep introspection and questioning.

I feel fortunate to have gone through a similar experience ten years ago when I experienced what could best be described as a quarter life crisis. This had started my awakening journey to deeply question what I was here to do on the planet. 2020 did that for the majority of people I know. As a society we are asking more questions than ever before, as we unravel and try to make sense of the world we currently live in. Let’s face it, not much makes sense right now. I believe that’s because we are going through a shift in the collective consciousness, one which is necessary to wake ourselves up from the destructive amnesia we have been shrouded in. Much is coming to the surface and it is uncomfortable to say the least. Uncertainty and fear abound, and these are the two things that unsettle humans the most. We are in the midst of a rebirth, one that is painful and ugly. Whilst it can feel overwhelming, I do believe the result will be for the greater good  – for humanity and the planet on which we live.

Over the past few months I too have been going through a deep process of understanding my role here, and how I can best serve the greater good. Getting my ego and personal identity out of the way has been the main challenge – hence writing this is quite exposing and feels risky and raw. I know that’s my fear mind, and that the medicine I share here gives permission for others to do the same.

The upshot is this – that NOW is the time – the world is ready for this vision. It must come to life.

The Rebirth
So Versicle is currently in the process of being born. Like I say, this feels raw and vulnerable to share. Like I’m exposing my ‘baby’ to the world for the first time by writing this. What if I fail, what if people judge me, what if…what if… All the excuses under the sun emerge when my heart and soul are on the line. And I guess that’s where leadership comes in – recognising that it’s my job to steward this thing into existence – in the best way I can.
I am human. I have flaws. Yet I was also born to overcome any challenge and thrive. All of us have that capacity, and it is often fuelled by something greater than ourselves. Something that has a bigger purpose and more meaning than just putting food on the table and a roof over our heads. Understanding what I needed to live a purpose-full life was the quest I embarked upon when I left the insurance industry. To make a difference, to leave a legacy, to create something new that would help humanity grow and evolve.

Welcome to Versicle.

Cultivating organisational health.

More than that – it’s the beginning of a revolution in how we approach health full stop. I believe that healthy people make healthy businesses – where everyone thrives as a result.

What will it be? So many things I often lose count. But as a starter for 10

  • Wellbeing Consultancy
  • Human Resources Support
  • Thought Leadership
  • Insurance Consultancy
  • Leadership Training & Development
  • Stress Management Guidance

The list goes on….. it’s a bit like an octopus at this point in time and literally the sky is the limit. At it’s core is about catalysing an evolution in consciousness so we can solve our current planetary problems and support humanity to thrive.

One of the reasons I’ve been avoiding it is because it feels so HUGE. And if I’m honest I know that’s because it IS. It wants to be. I believe it literally has a life of it’s own, and it is here to support us to thrive as individuals and organisations.

In modern business we are overwhelmed by technology. With all the talk of AI, data analytics and automation – where are we considering HI – Human Intelligence? The very valuable thing that powers our businesses in the first place. We must find a healthy sustainable balance between the two – so that technology becomes our helper rather than our master. I see organisations as organisms – and in order to thrive we have to take good care of our organic material – our people.

As is shown by the new cutting edge developments in epigenetics, it’s not just our DNA that affects our health, it is our environment that dictates our destiny. If the culture we live in, both in business and the wider context is unhealthy, then all of us will suffer the negative consequences of that. It is our individual and collective responsibility to create an environment that is sustainable for everyone involved – the people and the planet – for which we depend upon for our very survival.

Creating the connection
Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a planet without people. It’s an incredibly lonely place. Imagine there is no planet. Then what even is life? We need to come back to basics – the fundamentals of what makes our existence here meaningful. Connection. People. Love. Nature. All of the things that money can’t buy.

Now more than ever we are seeing the interconnectedness of all things. Whether that’s global supply chains or the impact your presence has on own your children. Everything you do and say has a ripple effect – it all matters. The question is – Are you making it matter? Are you present? Are you fulfilled? Are you embodying the best version of yourself? If not, why not? It’s never too late to start.

At the age of 63 my mother said lockdown is the best thing that ever happened to her. She’s lost 20+ kilos and is training to be a personal trainer. It’s never too late to make a change, to go after your dreams, to lead and inspire in the way that feels expansive and aligned for you.

Likewise lockdown has shown us what really matters. What we care about, what we get out of bed for, what makes us come alive. Everyone has a powerful song to sing. Isn’t it about time you shared your unique voice?

I doubt I’m alone in feeling I’m here to change the world for the better. I’m sure you feel the same way. We don’t all have to do it in the same fashion, or on a grand scale. Reading a bedtime story and being the best parent you can be might be yours, or starting a global movement to educate and inspire people back to health might be mine. It doesn’t matter, there’s no wrong or right. That’s what’s beautiful to the human experience – no two are the same – but collectively we create a harmony that is out of this world.

Now is the time
I believe we are at a critical point in our evolution as a species. My hope is that this crisis provides the impetus for us to reconnect with what truly matters and begin to build foundations for a healthy sustainable future.
Personally I feel like the last ten years of my life has made sense over the last two weeks, as if I’ve been playing Tetris and the final blocks have slotted into place. People are arriving that are part of this divine plan which has been so long in the making. Perhaps you are one of them?!

As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.  I think 5 years is long enough. It’s go time.

How about you?

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

WAKING UP IS A PAINFUL PROCESS

Coming to the realisation that life may not be what you perceive is a harsh reality to deal with.

When the world you cherish and hold onto as fact starts to disintegrate before your very eyes, it’s incredibly painful.  All your hopes, dreams and expectations are thrown into disarray. You don’t know who or what to believe anymore. You might even think you’re going mad. And in a way you are, but instead of going mad, you’re actually releasing the grip madness has upon you.

This collective dream is not what it seems. Attempt to perpetuate it all you like, but it’s fast becoming like sand running through your fingers. The tighter you grip, the faster it slides away to scatter on the ground. Living in a house of cards has risks. When the wind blows, all known structures come crumbling down because they were built on illusory foundations.

Many of our societal systems are built on such foundations. They are a house of cards, and attempting to save the flop is going to wipe you out. Instead it’s time to go within. Commit to the truth of yourself, who and what you really are. It’s a time to go deep inside and cultivate the seeds of truth for yourself. If you’re not sure where to begin, start exactly where you are.

Take a breath. Get curious. Ask questions. Then sit in the silence and listen. Not to all the external sensationalism that seeks to addict you to pain and suffering, but the whisper within. The voice of your soul that has been long distant but never forgotten. Therein lie your answers, and most importantly your peace. From the deep rooting in your essence no harm can come to you. Rest on the earth and feel her support. You are being guided back home, to yourself.

Waking up is painful, but you don’t have to suffer. Instead align to the flow of what you’re being shown and guided towards. Release your grief and sadness and return to the sacred vessel of your beating heart. Release the need to know or be right. In open curiosity the answers will become clear and peace will return.

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

WHY WE’RE DOING BUSINESS BACKWARDS

Rather than working for a business,  business must instead work for us.

Somewhere in our culture we installed the belief that we’re put here on the earth to ‘do’ things, to produce output, to make stuff and to work ourselves to death in the process. What kind of slavery have we created for ourselves? Can you see the madness of it all?

I expect the industrial revolution had something to do with it, once a standardised education system was introduced – one that was designed to produce factory workers. People that could follow the rules and do what they’re told. On one hand creating a reasonable standard of education,  on the other brainwashing entire populations not to think for themselves. And hence we find ourselves in 2020 – flummoxed by the global pandemic situation and not knowing what to think or where to turn.
We have been led astray, to sustain a system which is morally and energetically corrupt.  It is literally draining the life force from billions of people all over the planet – and for what? Progress?

If a corrupt media, habitat destruction, manipulation, and a complete inequality in the financial system is hailed as progress I have significant concerns for the survival of our species. And truth be told, I do have considerable concerns about the survival of our species. Humans seem to be the apex predator that is hell bent on destroying it’s own environment- the one necessary for our very existence.

Take away people and nature and what’s left? Do you think you can eat dollar bills, inhale polluted air and live long and prosper?  What planet are you living on? Newsflash: There is no plan-et B.  We are in a state of emergency and it’s got nothing to do with a microscopic v*rus. It’s time to wake up from the collective amnesia we unconsciously choose. Why are we continuing to hold onto our comfort blanket and pretend everything is ok????

Because to face it would mean finally coming to terms with the lie that’s been perpetuated, and the realisation that you’ve been enslaved all along. Not to mention the feelings of fear and overwhelm that you, as an individual, can do very little in the grand scheme of things.

Now’s the time for us all to wake up
We are all in this mess together.  In fact our collective consciousness created this whole mess, whilst being simultaneously asleep at the wheel and subject to manipulation and control of an elite few in power. Wake up! The world needs you to come to your senses.

It doesn’t matter what’s been happening up until this point. Forgive yourself for the past, you didn’t know any better. You were born into this system of slavery and deception after all. It is however your duty and obligation to take responsibility for your patch of life now that you’ve come to your senses.
You might not feel you can have any impact. That nothing you can do will help.  It’s complete BS. Don’t fool yourself with the excuse that things are too far gone to change it. Everything is fluid. Life changes in a heartbeat. And if yours is still beating, then you have an opportunity to create ripples of change.

What’s driving you forward?
The world needs people who are passionate and driven by something greater than themselves.  Work out what that is for you. What lights your soul on fire? What gets you out of bed in the morning? What makes you cry tears of joy? What could you spend hours doing and the time would pass in the blink of an eye? What to you deeply value and care about?
Start there.

Essentially the planet needs more people to truly come alive. Co-creating from a place of connection and common purpose.  Often we find fulfilment in the things that create community, are inspiring and bring positive change. You can do your part any way you like – begin making those ripples of positive change.

It doesn’t start with someone else, it starts with you and it starts today. We might not get to see tomorrow,  so it’s time to bring your A game and dream a new 20:20 vision.

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

WILL THE REVOLUTIONARY LEADERS PLEASE STAND UP?

The time is over for hiding. Now is the kairos. The perfect moment to stand up and show the world who you really are.

No, not the small, fake, timid shadow of yourself that hides behind a mask. The real, true, revolutionary human that you are.

You know that the final chapter has come to an end, and the moment has arrived to close the book of your old life and become who you REALLY know yourself to be at the core.

It’s time to reveal your soul to the world in all its infinite glory.

It’s time to fully show up, firstly for yourself, and secondly for what’s true and just.

You’ve known things weren’t quite right for a long time, both in the world and within yourself.
No matter what kind of outer success you’ve achieved (and you’ve had plenty of it), you never reached the place you thought you would. Something was missing and no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t put your finger on it.

I’m here to point out the obvious. The thing that’s been missing all this time is YOU. Being fully ALL of you. Some time ago in the dim and distant past, you squashed yourself to fit in, keep the peace, and to make everyone else happy. As you diligently followed the rules of your family, work and society, you slowly but surely started to shrink and disappear.

YOU KILLED OFF YOUR SOUL.  Yes you did, you know it’s true.

You unwittingly sold your soul to the devil because that’s what everybody else did too.
And now as you read this you’re finally ready to admit what you did. You put yourself in a box, before the world did it for you, and you built your own prison.

You might be wondering how I know this…

Because I did it too – for YEARS. I played the game and did what I was told. I followed the track for success and boy oh boy did I ‘make it’. Yes indeed. I had the high profile job with the kudos and financial rewards to boot.

I spent years climbing the ladder, to eventually realise it was against the wrong wall.
It was killing my soul.

Then my world fell apart in one fell swoop. After years of being numbed out on the conveyor belt called life, I cracked open. IT WAS PAINFUL. The world came rushing in and overwhelmed me.

And in that moment I WOKE UP.
I woke up to the lie I’d been living.
I woke up to my pain and trauma.
I woke up to the realisation I was living someone else life.
I woke up to my self loathing and insecurities.
I woke up to how guarded my heart was.
I woke up to the illusion of ALL OF IT.

I’d been sleepwalking on autopilot through someone else’s expectations of what my life should look like. I’d measured my success by somebody else’s ruler.

I felt fake, phoney and out of control and in that moment I knew that a part of me was dying. The grief and devastation were intolerable. I cried and cried for months. It was intensely painful and lasted for what felt like an eternity. And yet…

I can tell you this.

IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME.
Because it woke me up to what I’d done. The whole experience helped me understand what was missing all along.

ME.

I was M.I.A. in my own life. Auto-pilot has a way of doing that. When you’re so immersed in the cut and thrust of everyday living, you just can’t see it. Often it takes a massive shock to break the shackles of a conditioned mind to start to comprehend something new or different.

I’d known for years that my true work lay in the healing and transformation space. I just didn’t have the balls or the clarity to make the leap, until life pushed me out of the plane with no parachute. I had to figure it out for myself on the way down.

Was it challenging? Hell yes.
Did I face massive resistance? Of course.
Did I cry, scream and punch the air at the unfairness of it all? You betcha.
Did I question and doubt myself and the process? Umm… what do you think?!

But guess what….

I didn’t smash into the ground at 150 mph. I WAS CAUGHT BY GRACE. Rescued by a force greater than myself.

I WAS SAVED BY MY OWN SOUL.

Because it was there all along but had been squished and stuffed in a cupboard for as long as I could remember. When it saw that chink of light it made a sprint for the door and escaped. It reached the sunlight and took its first breath.

After a long imprisonment, IT CAME BACK TO LIFE.

And bit by bit so did I.

That was ten years ago and I haven’t looked back since. It’s been a long road with many twists, turns and dead ends. Yet I wouldn’t change any part of it for ANYTHING. It has cost me YEARS OF MY LIFE and HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND OF POUNDS to get my soul back and let me tell you it’s the best investment I EVER made.

I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat because my hard-won freedom is PRICELESS. Honestly – what’s the point of living if you don’t feel free?

After walking this path for years it has become what I live and breathe. My life has unexpectedly become my purpose and that makes my soul very happy indeed. This wild crazy journey led me home to myself and to find my place in the world.

I’m now blessed to share these gifts with others so they can find their FREEDOM, come home to themselves and become what they already KNOW is inside of them.

To reclaim their power and step into sovereignty.
To think and feel for themselves, beyond the conditioning and trauma of the past.
To stand up and shine their light in a world of darkness.
To step out of the shadows and become the revolutionary human, leader, healer, and inspiration they have always known themselves to be.
To be an example of what is possible for humanity.

TO BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD. Yes, YOU.

I know it’s scary. Perhaps you don’t feel ready. You want to run and hide and maybe you will.
Scarier still is the thought of reliving the same day over and over again for 60+ years and calling it a life.
You know what? Your soul wants to come out of the box, and until it does, there will always be the unrelenting discomfort that a part of you is missing. It’s only a matter of time before something gives. Your life and your people are waiting.

The question is: Are you going to take the leap yourself or wait to be pushed?

Because at the end of the day it’s your choice.
Nobody else is coming to the rescue.
You’ve got to save yourself.

You know it’s time to become the revolutionary human that you are.  And frankly… if not now, then when?

Remember –

Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

DROP BREATHS NOT BOMBS

Have you noticed how traumatised we all are? Look around. Fear. Masks. Judgement. Hysteria. If this isn’t a highly traumatised society I don’t know what is.

Let’s get real for a minute. We are at the beginnings of a deep and painful healing process. Your world. Your society. Your family.

YOU.
ME.
EVERYONE.

It’s a healing process we don’t even know we need because we’ve been programmed so deeply to believe that everything is functional just the way it is.

NOPE.

Human trafficking. Racism. Poisoned food. Profit above everything. Does anything about that sound healthy to you?

Disconnection. Nihilism. Co-dependency. Tribalism. FEAR.

Not a cocktail I’d like to drink but it’s being pumped into your system 24/7 by the existing media paradigm and societal ‘normalities’. Far from normal. A long way off healthy.

So what’s the solution?

First, turn off the TV. Nothing coming through the traditional media channels is going to make you feel any better or assure you. Consuming it will just lead you to a black hole of despair and contraction. The exact opposite of what makes your immune system healthy and strong. Be highly aware of what you are consuming on social media or from anyone in your circle. Nobody has all the ‘facts’ (if such a thing exists) and the only way you are going to know what is right for you – is by connecting to YOU. That’s not possible if there’s continual interference. Right now you might not feel like meditating or going to the gym but I can hands-down guarantee you’ll feel a million times better for it.

Whilst you’re being mindful of what you consume, be mindful of what you put out. Nasty media posts, criticism and judgement of others isn’t going to solve this situation, only make it worse by feeding the feelings of separation, tribalism and isolation.

This is the biggest part – if you feel emotionally triggered, either by the shituation* you are in personally, or by someone else’s words, actions or the audacity to breathe without a mask covering their face – STOP. Don’t move. Don’t react. Get still.

Be guided by how you feel

This is what everyone needs to learn. Your emotions are just telling you stuff. It’s not about the other person. It’s about how you feel inside and how you interpret those feelings. The beauty of this is that you also have the tool to resolve your emotional activation – but most people don’t realise it – because it’s not taught in schools – and it’s even poo-pooed as being some woo woo stuff. Well, how about this.

Lets start with a breath

Instead of dropping bombs on each other, blowing stuff out of proportion and making our nervous systems go haywire – we drop BREATHS. Lot’s of them. DEEP BELLY BREATHS. Into the core of your being.

You want to resolve that emotional wound?  Breathe.
Change how you feel inside?  Breathe.
Create more abundance in your life?  Breathe.
Love yourself more?  Breathe.

Basically, you get the picture. It comes back to the simple thing every time. Your breath is your superpower, should you choose to engage with it. In a couple of minutes, you can take yourself from suped-up nervous Nina to chilled out Cathy – if you weren’t so fixated on someones outrageous internet opinion. Stick to your own lane, use your own breath.

Here’s how:

  • Find a comfortable position
  • Close your eyes
  • Breathe in through your nose for a count of 4
  • Hold your breath for a count of 7
  • Breathe out through your mouth for a count of 8
  • Repeat 4 times

If you don’t feel 100000% times better, then I’ll eat my hat. That’s how easy it can be if you take a moment to think for yourself. You’re in control of your mind and body, now it’s time you acted like it.

If you know you’ve got more emotional gunk in your system to deal with – then I’m your woman.

Tried everything? Good. You probably haven’t tried this.

You probably won’t. But if you do? It will change your life, and you’ll be free once and for all.

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

100K MONTHS, A FAKE PENIS AND A CALL WITH THE WIZARD IN MY POCKET

Let’s just say there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes in my life that I don’t often share. I feel like that goes for the rest of the population – we’re so busy saving face and attempting to look all pretty and perfect on the outside that we fail to recognise were dying on the inside. A slow and painful death that is the result of not unleashing what we are truly here to do, and who we are really here to be.

Anyway I digress – so back to the headline. I expect you’re literally dying to know what all this is about!

Well these are on my to-do list this week. My personal development journey never stops, I just don’t always publish what I get up to, and maybe you’ll find out if you’re a client of mine, or maybe you won’t. But today I wanted to share this as a recognition that the work takes work. One of my highest values is learning – and I’ll scrape together and integrate all kinds of weird and wonderful practices and insights for the constant improvement in my clients results.

Hence this week 100k months, a fake penis and a call with the wizard in my pocket. And that’s just for starters. Let’s go with the first one – and probably most contentious or triggering. We all have issues with money – and the majority of these stem from lack of self worth and societal conditioning about what money IS and what money MEANS. You know all those beliefs – like rich people are assholes – or that – money doesn’t grow on trees? Well they’re not actually true. Unless you believe them to be true.

So I’m stretching myself with one of my mentors – upgrading my own wealth hardware to bring more abundance in my life – so my clients get to do that too – and the best bit? It’s automatic and by osmosis.

You are the result of the five people you spend the most time with

So I’ll be filling my time and consciousness with the wisdom of someone who has made multiple millions online ONLY from soul and flow. If you want to upgrade your game I suggest you do something similar – whatever the goal – get into the circle or energy of someone who already has it.

Make your life easier, not harder.

Pain is guaranteed in life, suffering is optional. Be smart about where you spend your time and energy because ultimately this is an investment in yourself and you get what you pay for.

The next one – a fake penis.

A little more left field and potentially more interesting. And for the perverts at the back, I know this is what attracted you to read thus far 😉 I’m currently journeying the archetype of the ‘dark masculine’ which when imbalanced is what typically represents the evil acts that exist in the world. Things such as rape, destruction, and violence are the product of deep pain, grief and sadness. It’s difficult to understand or see this on the surface, but when you look closer and journey deep within yourself, you will understand this is true.

I decided to dive into this exploration to cease externalising my projections onto the masculine (and/or men) so that I can become more whole within myself. In addition understanding men from a different perspective gives me more tools as a facilitator and mentor to journey the deepest places that require love and attention.

So that’s why I’ll be making a fake penis and probably wearing it around the house at some point, so that I have a more embodied awareness of this energy. (yes – it’s this weeks homework….) Now you might think I’m downright crazy, in which case you’d definitely be correct, however I live and breathe what I teach – and I’m prepared to do what others will not – to become more human and understanding of the opposite sex. So that we can create more love and harmony on this planet, instead of separation and destruction.

Perhaps wearing a banana down your pants seems really weird, but I’m in for a penny, in for a pound. Plus – extra fruit for your morning smoothie 😉

Last but not least…the wizard in my pocket.

Coming back to the first point – be in the energy of the people who are doing/have what you want. I want more money and magic which is what Dane Tomas has. So I decided to join his most recent (not so secret) society to get an upgrade in my consciousness, ability to create my reality and hone my emotional clearing tools. Oh and work on purchasing a house/land outright next year. No pressure then. So I’m looking forward to having this wizard on speed dial.

When the house comes good, I’ll invite you round for some kind of weird shamanic initiation ritual – or maybe just some cheese and wine.

So that’s just the start of my week – not to mention the NLP course I’m studying, the ayurvedic detox I’m starting or the million and one other things going on. Nothing to see here!

What are you doing this week?

I’d love to know!

DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF?

Here’s what I recognise – the overwhelming majority of people don’t. They’re always second-guessing their decisions and there’s an underlying feeling of anxiety that pervades their life…. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop….

I know because that was me.

Internal guidance

For years I double-checked and took on board other peoples opinions. And guess what…..When you do that over and over (as our systems of learning/society/authority teach us to do) then you end up with a deep mistrusts in your internal guidance system. It’s like driving a car with a blindfold on – getting fed directions by somebody else….. Essentially you’re there, primed, waiting for the car to eventually crash. I think you’ll agree it’s not a good place to be.

Recently I’ve been working with one of my mentors on TRUST. It’s a big thing. I’ve also been on a deep dive with the kinesiology emotional clearing tools I’m trained in. What dawned on me a few days ago during one of her sermons was that trust is a DECISION. It’s an internal belief system. You might be thinking …. NO Philippa…. I need to trust BEFORE I can actually trust. Well good luck with that, because it’s NOT going to happen.

You either trust and believe in yourself or you don’t. It might sound simple but it’s true. It might be confronting, and if so, then it’s time to shift your paradigm for the better. My mentor has made $15m online from a soul-aligned business. It’s fair to say she knows what she’s talking about.

Belief system

So it got me thinking – how is it possible to flick the switch on trusting yourself?

To feel –
CERTAIN
CONFIDENT
EMPOWERED
& DEEP TRUST IN YOURSELF?

Then for the AHA moment… by using my kinesiology clearing tools to directly install new beliefs!

Go in and hack the system (because that’s essentially what these tools do) with a new belief system. It’s like hitting reboot on your computer after loading new software. Load new beliefs and new experiences await.

Like trusting yourself!

I’ve been experimenting on myself and it WORKS. I’m so excited to share this so I’ve designed a session specifically for you. We go in and rewrite the code. And then… miracles unfold.

Steps forward

If you’d love to overcome:
– procrastination
– second-guessing yourself
– anxiety
– worry worry worry
– the early and unnecessary onset of wrinkles

Then reach out to me and we can book you in a session.

Warning: This might just completely change your life for the better.

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

DON’T GO CHANGING….UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE HAPPIER / HEALTHIER / WEALTHIER

Don’t panic, I’m not about to share something novel and groundbreaking with you. I’m not here to bust your paradigm… or am I? 😉 I’m just going to remind you of something you ALREADY KNOW…. but don’t want to admit to yourself or anyone else for that matter.

YOU are responsible for where you’re currently at. Your life, your health, your happiness, your job etc. All of it. Complain all you like, if you like, but its not going to change the laws of the universe. They’re pretty set in stone (or rather energetic and mathematical codes way to complex for my little mind to comprehend….)

What I do know is this

If you want something different in your life – you WILL need to change something. No wishing, hoping, pining for change and doing the complete opposite action. Clear, determined, un-categoric choice for something different – and following it up with action, is what’s required. Putting your money where your mouth is, so to speak.

I realise it might feel far fetched and beyond your grasp. It did for me too, for far too long…. before I realised I was done with my self-sabotage and no matter what – was committed to getting out of my own way and sidestepping my own bullsh*t excuses.

External accountability is great, but if you’re not able to back that up with internal discipline then it’s going to be a fight to the death with your ego – which above else – wants you to stay the same.

Because change – seen through the eyes of your ego – means DEATH. Slow, painful, uncertain outcome type of death – is what it fears beyond anything. This is what is often referred to as ‘resistance’. You know, the typical excuses that arise when you commit to something, but you allow yourself to get sidetracked / sabotaged / distracted etc.

Stepping onto your path

At one point the destination seems pinpoint clear until you take a step or two forward and start to smack into the boulders placed in your way. Your internal mechanisms want to stay the same – but I’m guessing YOU don’t.

You want something different. Perhaps its been that way for a long time. Perhaps it’s a new and novel realisation. Either way, if you want a different outcome you’re going to HAVE to make a change somewhere. Einstein once said – repetition of the same thing expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity – or something to that effect. And he’s right.

No change = no change.

End of story. Full stop.

There IS light at the end of the tunnel however.

Many of the reasons you’ve not yet succeeded at changing something is highly likely to relate to your belief systems and current identity. What I mean by that is the the current version of you that resides in your head. The picture you hold of yourself in your minds eye. Again it’s most likely that the imaginary version you hold has been largely shaped by your life experience and early childhood environment and is wildly out of touch with the REAL you.

So if you grew up in a household where money was scarce, guess what type of beliefs your subconscious is encoded with?? Yep, scarcity. Lack. Concern about money and how you’re going to pay the bills and put food on the table.

When you decide on an identity (whether consciously or not) your outer reality will reflect it back to you. So within, as without.

Start with you

If you want to change, it’s most effective to start with the problem – YOU. Your inner landscape, beliefs, emotional baggage and crappy view of yourself. It’s possible to plaster over the cracks, but only for so long. Rest assured they WILL re-appear a few years down the line, at which time it will be trickier and more costly to repair.

Some part of you already knows this. Perhaps you can’t put it into words but you can feel it in your bones. The game is up. On the other hand if you’re reading this and you’re exactly where you wish to be in life, congratulations! Keep going!

And if not…don’t go changing…. UNLESS you want to be happier / healthier / wealthier / [insert hearts DESIRE here].

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.

MAKING THE ASSUMPTION THAT DEATH IS A BAD THING

Let’s talk about the human condition shall we?

Our organism is wired to survive at all costs. When stressful events happen our biology kicks in to protect our life and save us from danger. Fundamentally we have an animal nature. This is not in dispute.

Biologically you’re wired to survive. Psychologically – you have an opportunity to reflect and view your position on death. It would seem that the preoccupation of the human is death. When, how, under what conditions etc will it happen. So much worry and concern about something that may or may not happen, today, tomorrow or whenever.

Here’s the kicker

At some point in time you’re going to die. We ALL are. I appreciate that may be an unsettling thought, but if you have the courage to face it full on, it will actually set you free. You see humans are continually scanning for danger and creating ‘what if’ scenarios – does anyone suffer from anxiety out there? Hands up…. – I thought so. Anxiety is typically a projection into the future, of some unwanted event.

The mind is a helpful ally but a terrible master. What you focus your attention on grows, and what you resist persists. So the fear of death will create, you guessed it, more fear. And then fear of the fear… and then total overwhelm, meltdown, and shutting yourself in isolation wrapped in cotton wool….or whatever else you do in the face of a global pandemic.

Simply because we make the assumption that death is ‘bad’. Certainly nobody wants to bow out before their allotted time, but it’s pointless worrying about ‘when’ that time might come. By all means get your life insurance in place and make arrangements (like i said it will happen one day…) but don’t allow your very existence to be sullied by the continuous babble of the mind that wishes to create all multitude of disaster scenarios to keep itself occupied.

Like I said we make the assumption that death is bad. I expect because we then no longer get to experience this physical existence with our nearest, dearest, pets and lovers. To hold, touch, and taste the sweet nectar of life.

Worrying about nothing?

However let’s be frank – nobody knows what’s on the other side. So why are we making the assumption that it’s a bad thing, or any worse than the current reality in which we co-exist? Depending on your beliefs you may argue the point that the other side IS known. This is a personal view I share, however you are invited to make up your own mind. I don’t believe consciousness is limited to this physical vessel, and this belief is formed from my direct personal experience.

It’s for each of us to determine for ourselves whether the ‘afterlife’ in whatever guise, fits our narrative. In much the same way that a child in the womb does not know what will come next as they enter into this vastly different physical reality, neither do we. The babe is born and enters this realm – one totally alien and new. We forget that we have each had this experience too.

Making the assumption that death is bad limits our ability to experience and enjoy life. If your fear of death is propelling you to live a more wholesome and fulfilling life, and inviting you to go after your dreams – then great! Keep going! However if your rumination on death and it’s inevitable yet undetermined date of arrival is leading you to anxiety and depression, this is an invitation to start living NOW.

Time to take control

It’s never too late. Accept the unacceptable. Face up to the reality. And instead of cowering in the corner waiting for the day when the grim reaper arrives with his cape and scythe, take your life by the horns and do the things you’ve always wanted to do.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. You get to choose how you want to live it. Are you waiting for the other shoe to drop? Or are you going to boldly step forward and claim your living?

Remember,
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.
