We work with a form of conscious diaphragmatic breathing which combines acupressure and affirmation with healing sound and movement.
This gentle, safe method enables you open up the full potential of your breathing system to achieve optimum physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Gradually returning our body to its natural state, breathing freely and deeply, as we did when we were young. From this place you can be more present in your experience and live your life with more freedom, peace and harmony.
One of the best ways to overcome obstacles and challenges in your life is by working towards a full unrestricted breath. Transformation will flow from this single act alone.
Why learn to breathe in this way?
You may be thinking ‘Why is our breathing so important, after all I’ve been doing it since I was born and I’m still alive!?’ Great point, let me explain. We all have experiences that we have carried with us since we were born. You could say in that sense that we are like a tape recorder, and our body and subconscious mind hold a record of everything that has happened to us. This includes unprocessed emotions and trauma, in addition to suppressed laughter and joy.
Over time, our body begins to manage our emotional state by adapting the way we physically breathe. These restrictions appear in numerous ways for example; engaging the wrong muscles, shallow breathing, chest breathing and high levels of muscle tension. Limitations in our breathing capacity can affect us in various ways such as lack of energy, dis-ease, and heightened stress response for a start. Learning to harness your breath will transform your life in all areas and increase your resilience, enhance your relationships and bring you a deep sense of fulfilment.

The physical act of deep breathing helps oxygenate and detoxify the body. The movement of the diaphragm during abdominal breathing has the effect of giving our internal organs a regular massage, improving energy flow and our physical vitality.
During a session facilitators apply gentle acupressure to the body in order to support and encourage tense muscles to relax. This enables the breath to expand and become more free flowing and natural, extending our capacity to breathe deeply, with less effort, and soothing our nervous system in the process.
During online sessions you will be guided to move and support your body in a way which feels nourishing to you – allowing the stress to simply melt away and be replaced with a sense of deep rest and relaxation.
Restrictions in our breathing are related to our ability to process emotions. Tension and resistance in our body prevent us from resolving the emotional issues holding us back, keeping us locked into our old patterns. Acupressure gently releases the muscles in order to free up this latent emotional energy, allowing it to be expressed and integrated during a session.
The whole range of emotion from grief, sadness, fear and anger through to joy, peace and love becomes available to us, in order to release any experiences which prevent us fully expressing ourselves in the world. Releases are often met with a sense of relief and a feeling of lightness and calm, and enables us to tap into our genuine emotional experience and flow more easily with life.
Our subconscious mind is responsible a very high proportion of our habits and behaviour and many of us have negative or destructive beliefs running behind the scenes. In this age of information overload it can be challenging to switch off your thoughts and relax completely. During a session we use positive affirmations to re-programme the mind with helpful, loving and liberating thoughts.
This is the equivalent of hitting the re-set button in our subconscious and overriding those nasty old programmes to our benefit. Sustained focus on our breathing also allows our mind to slow down and relax in a similar way to meditation.
Deep Inner Connection
The answers we seek are available inside each and every one of us. Yet how can we become quiet for long enough to hear our own internal voice and learn to trust it again? You can start by creating a greater awareness of your breath and allowing the innate intelligence of your body to show you the way. When we slow down, we gain the ability to tune in to the subtle messages we are already aware of, but as yet unable to interpret.
At the end of a session there is time for relaxation and reflection, enabling you to connect with your deep inner knowing. Acting upon the insights you receive will create an opportunity to develop and trust your intuition further.

What does a session involve?
We offer private 1:1 and group sessions both in person and online. We invite you into a comfortable environment with calming music, where participants will usually be lying down, wearing loose comfortable clothing. A typical session is around 60 minutes long although this may vary depending on the setting and can be longer or shorter as required.
We aim to support you in understanding how to work with you breath to create the transformation you desire in your life. The simple yet powerful technique can be used to great effect on its own or in combination with other types of therapy.
