Into the depths of darkness I go.
Will I return? I never quite know.
But every time I know that I must.
It’s never desired but I always choose trust.
Finding the ground means losing it first.
Only total surrender results in rebirth.
Down, down down, beyond the mud and dirt.
Through hell and high water, with the devil I flirt.
But I know it’s not the place to dwell.
My visit is purposeful – to release the spell.
That keeps me stuck and in separation
From myself, my heart and entire nations.
The depths are dark, malevolent and scary
At times the path is treacherous and hairy
But those who wander and dare to roam
Are always guided safely back home.
