You know that feeling, when something just doesn’t seem right? Your rational logical mind is giving you the confirmation to proceed, this makes sense, but somewhere deep down there is a different message going on. It’s like that nagging little voice in the dark somewhere that you can’t quite place, yet it’s there and you know it’s presence.
You still go ahead and do the thing based on logic and intellect and guess what, the niggle that you chose to ignore eventually comes to bare down the road and you’re left berating yourself for not listening to your intuition. Somewhere, somehow you knew the outcome was going to manifest, just as it has done. If only you’d listened, things would be different, better, sweeter etc.
And yes, you’d be correct.
If you took the time to slow down and become curious about the doubts that you had, they would have most likely led you in a different direction. However worrying about the outcome after the fact, is in fact, madness, with the exception of analysis and lesson learning. There is a harmony and balance to all things in life, and so everything that has happened, whether you like it or not, is actually harmonious.
Intuition. Felt sense. Knowing. Knowing beyond knowing.
Where's your attention taken?
These are tricky things to acquire in the modern world, primarily because the human race has been systematically programmed to become the opposite - automatons. This has occurred through a mixture of cultural conditioning and dysfunctional parenting.
Desensitisation to our bodies and our senses has decimated our ability to attune to the deepest, most natural rhythms of life. Everything in our modern world is screaming for our attention and selling us a narrative, a set of beliefs, in order to lead us down a certain pathway. Most likely one that ends in a sales page and checkout till. One way to sell something is to invent a need, and then develop a product or service to fill the gap. That’s all well and good, and potentially helpful when the need is REAL, but most of the time modern ‘needs’ are not that at all. They are glorified marketing campaigns promoting the next unnecessary but gimmicky thing.
As an example I’m going to take a sharp turn here and speak about CBD and the explosion of the medical and personal use of this compound. I’ll caveat by saying straight up that I’m no expert. I have had personal forays into the world of plants, and everything has it’s natural place and order. For some people these compounds can be highly beneficial and the medical evidence is positive.
However my view is that relying on CBD has the potential to be just as dangerous as giving all your faith and trust over to the modern medical system. For the most part it’s treating the symptom rather than the cause. Yet another band aid for a bullet wound solution that is being promoted by everyone that has scrambled to cash in on the freshly sprouted industry.
Are we masking the real problem?
CBD is shown to have a calming effect on the nervous system. It may be helpful as a way to allow you to begin to regulate your nervous system, especially if you’ve experienced significant trauma and are having difficulty in operating in the world. And yet, my biggest fear is that it is simply masking the underlying problem of emotional and energetic dis-regulation (read trapped emotional stuff) that is creating the symptoms in the first place. You’re going to just get stuck in a different cycle, rather than pharma meds, it will be some other exogenous substance which, over time, you become reliant upon and unable to function without.
I don’t believe this is a long term healthy solution and my concern is that it has the potential to make us more malleable and compliant as time goes on. If you’re blissed out without a care in the world, why would you feel the urge to stand up for your civil liberties that are being threatened?
As the saying goes ignorance is bliss, until you wake up a few years later like snow white after a long slumber and realise you’re in a dystopian nightmare. The people in power would very much like to see the status quo maintained, and this new trend plays nicely into their hands.
I hear you asking ‘What’s the problem?’ and I get it. A few years ago ignorance was bliss for me too, and I still escape there from time to time.
So what really is the problem?
The problem is that society has brainwashed us with a story about health that is completely disempowering. One where if you get a disease, the solution is to ‘take’ something to fix the problem. Suggesting our bodies are incapable of healing and self regulation.
Sickness? Indicates something is out of balance, either in our physical body, emotions, or our perceptions of the world. The illness is seeking us to address the imbalance, and when we do, the symptoms go away. It’s a natural feedback system that works time and time again.
However the majority of us are under the illusion that something ‘outside’ of us will fix the problem. No, this can not work. The person in the best place to fix the problem is YOU!
What's your body trying to tell you?
By going inside and identifying what is going on. Staying present with yourself and feeling into your body. Asking questions, becoming curious. LISTENING. To yourself. Beyond the noise and distractions.
Deeply connecting with your inner dialogue, thoughts and feelings and tuning in to your experience.
Therein lies the answer to your ‘problem’ which never really was one in the first place, moreover something you were ignoring instead. Shining a light on the mess, doesn’t initially change the mess, but it does give you the perspective on what needs to happen to tidy it up.
When you address the cause, the symptoms will magically disappear of their own accord. Try it and see for yourself! Our conditioning is strong. For multiple generations now we have become more and more disconnected from our true nature, one that is naturally regenerative and benevolent. Certain forces in the world, without our best interests at heart, would like us to believe a different narrative. One that is disempowering and fear inducing. If you’re plugged into the matrix, you’ll fall for it and be unconsciously playing along.
Yet you already know what you know. Your intuition is strong, but there is still the fear of going against the masses. Of speaking out and owning your truth, and sharing it with the world.
I know because I was once there too.
Scared of making waves and upsetting people.
Being criticised, outcast and humiliated.
Being judged for being ‘too much’, ‘weird’, ’opinionated’ and even ‘crazy'.
Again this is another way of keeping you in the matrix. One of the biggest drivers of our human species is survival, and the historical threat of being outcast was a slow and lonely death. It’s no surprise therefore that speaking up scares the bejesus out of you! Wanting to fit in is a strong urge, and also one that keeps us from aligning fully with our TRUE self, the one that is aligned with all things natural and knows beyond knowing. The self that is a free and sovereign being, connected deeply to intuition and the flow of life.
What have you been conditioned to be?
This is the BEING that we have been conditioned away from. Instead we have been led towards DOING, and programmed automatic behaviours which are not in our best interest.
Being driven my our unconscious behaviours and directed at the whim of external forces is I believe a recipe for disaster in the evolution of the human race.
The definition of an automaton: A mechanism that is relatively self-operating (e.g. robot) A machine or control mechanism designed to follow automatically a predetermined sequence of operations or respond to encoded instructions
an individual who acts in a mechanical fashion
None of these traits are beneficial for a free thinking human. If you consider they are, then, more than likely you’re trapped in the matrix. When you are ready to come to terms with the truth, be warned it will likely be a painful and confusing experience. Things that you thought were real turned out to be falsities. We’ve been lied to and that is a difficult realisation to come to terms with.
However when you do, it will set you free on a new more fulfilling path. One where you’re in the driving seat of your destiny, and no person or thing will be able to take that away from you.
The good news? You’re the only person who can set yourself free. The bad news? You’re the only person who can set yourself free.
What will you decide?
Breathe the change you wish to see in the world.
